“My favorite part of this profession is creating lasting relationships around great projects, as the most critical component of great site design is the collaboration of the team. Each site contains its unique layers of built and natural systems, with individual team members responsible for making their part work. A great site designer will lead this effort by conducting the architects, engineers, natural environment, budget, and construction to develop a distinctive and lasting experience for the users of the site.”

 

Bio:

Growing up in Minneapolis, Ben explored the urban wilderness as a child, finding memorable and forgotten spaces throughout his neighborhood and beyond. His travels eventually led him to Southern California, where during his time at EPT Design in Pasadena he was fortunate to work on a large variety of projects covering all facets of the profession. Throughout his 20+ years of experience, Ben has focused on providing design and management expertise on projects of considerable challenge, complexity, and design intensity. Ben’s project experience includes theme parks, master planning, mixed-use podium developments, parks, urban design, waterfronts, and estate residential design, with a particular focus in Creative Office and Higher Education Campus design. He excels at creating special and lasting relationships with the client and consultant group, resulting in a streamlined workflow and a very efficient level of communication.
